Ministry Teams and Leaders

All of the ministries and activities of St. John’s fall within twelve Ministry Teams. Some of these teams are led by the clergy, some by staff, and some by lay leaders who represent their team on the Vestry (the elected governing body of the church). One of the easiest ways to get involved at St. John’s is to identify an area of the church’s ministry that appeals to you and get involved with that team. Not only does it let you live out your faith in a practical way, it provides a more intimate experience of Christian community.

Below we’ve listed each of the Ministry Teams with a brief description and who to contact if you’d like more information about how to get involved.

lilyThe Welcome and Inclusion Team is designed to help integrate people into the life of the St. John’s community.  This includes the Ushers who greet you on Sunday morning, members who reach out to people who have filled out visitor cards, folks who host newcomer events, and fostering a general spirit in the congregation that is attentive and hospital to anyone who is in our midst.

Follow the links below for more information on each of three spiritual formation teams.

Children & Youth :  Kindergarten to 5th grade.

Adults, everybody else.

lilyThe Fellowship Team fosters a parish culture that simply enjoys relaxing and being with one another and a community where genuine relationships can grow. It tends to involve a lot of food!

redThe Pastoral Care Team is a very relational ministry that provides support for one another in all the diverse areas of our individual journeys.

leaf2The Outreach Team seeks to follow God’s heart into the world around us: loving, serving, giving, and transforming what is broken into places of healing and peace.

lily2The Building and Grounds Team provides ongoing care for our property. It’s a great team for the handyman to join! Also part of this team is the Eden Guild which oversees the grounds and explores the distinctive spirituality fostered through gardening and our care of the earth.

lily3The Finance Team is headed by the treasurer who oversees the responsible use and reporting of all St. John’s income.

lily4The Parish Administration Team oversees the practical management of the daily operations of the church. It is headed by our Parish Administrator, but there are many volunteer opportunities to oversee various tasks. Contact our parish administrator at for more information.

lilyThe Stewardship Team helps to establish and foster a stewardship priority in our parish; to foster an increasing sense of gratitude for all that God has supplied; to be generous with our lives.

lily2The Evangelism Team fosters and understanding and practice within the parish of sharing gospel that is consistent with Biblical principles and Episcopal culture.
